Almond Saffron Cookies

Almond Saffron Butter Cookies
Kid-friendly | Makes 10–12 cookies
Ingredients
• All-purpose flour – 1 cup
• Butter – ¼ cup, softened
• Skayaa Almond Saffron Syrup – 2 tbsp
• Powdered sugar – 1–2 tbsp, optional
• Baking powder – ½ tsp
• Milk – 1 tbsp, only if needed
• Almond slivers – 2 tbsp
• Saffron strands – a few
Method

Preheat the oven to 170°C.

In a bowl, cream the softened butter and powdered sugar.

Add Skayaa Almond Saffron Syrup and mix well.

Add flour and baking powder. Mix gently to form a soft dough.

Add a little milk only if the dough feels too dry.

Fold in the almond slivers.

Roll the dough into small balls and gently flatten them on a lined baking tray.

Top with almond slivers and a few saffron strands.

Bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are lightly golden.

Allow the cookies to cool completely before serving.
Baker's Note
Keep the cookies slightly soft in the centre when taking them out; they will firm up as they cool.
